Mullein grows all over the Rocky Mountain region and is known 
for its soft, fuzzy, thick leaves. It is a great respiratory tonic and 
can act as an expectorant that makes coughs more productive. 
You’ll find Mullein stalks that grow seemingly individually, yet you 
will usually find others in the vacinity. Whenever I have met 
with Mullein on a plant spirit journey, it gives me a two-fold message: 
‘Find strength and empowerment within yourself, knowing that 
you are supported by the community all around you.’

Mullein it is an incredible plant depicted in this painting! It is an amazing aid to the respiratory system for asthma, 
congestion, and deeper respiratory infections. It also has 
anti-inflammatory properties. Mullein flowers are primarily used in 
ear infection formulas. Garlic and mullein flower ear oil is an ancient 
traditional herbal formula.
